1. Networking
As a member of NSHBA,you can build a solid network of business contacts and potentially increase your client base by interacting with the diverse group of professionals at members' meetings, committee meetings or special events.

2. One Voice
Representing more than 350 members provincewide, the NSHBA serves as an advocate for the industry when issues arise that pertain to residential construction. By lobbying government ministers and representatives and municipal councillors, the NSHBA can ensure the industry's messages are effectively communicated.

3. Professionalism
The NSHBA sets the standard for professionalism in the industry by offering a voluntary Certified Residential Builder Program. Participating members not only raise the bar for others in the industry, but they also demonstrate their commitment to promoting professionalism and certification in the province.

4. Training & Education
The NSHBA offers training and courses for R-2000, as well as works closely with the Atlantic Home Building and Renovation Sector Council (AHBRSC) and the Nova Scotia Construction Safety Association (NSCSA) to offer members other training opportunities.

5. Marketing and Advertising
NSHBA members receive many opportunities to showcase their companies, products and services through effective marketing tools such as the NSHBA websites, member profiles, the annual membership directory, and product demonstrations at member meetings, among others. Members receive advertising discounts from the Chronicle Herald as well as discounts on booth space at the annual NSHBA Home Show.

6.Community Investment
In addition to helping build healthy, strong communities in Nova Scotia, the NSHBA and its Members also help give back to the community by contributing to various local charities such as Habitat for Humanity, Beacon House, Adsum House, Phoenix Youth Programs, Feed Nova Scotia and the IWK.

7. Communication

Framework, the NSHBA's monthly newsletters keeps members up-to-date on current events and issues pertaining to the residential construction industry as well as legislative issues, members' meetings, and special events, among other features and announcements. In addition, with our Member Alerts, Product Alerts and e-mails, NSHBA are the first to know when something happens within the industry.

8. Special Projects
From annual home shows, new home and renovations seminars, and R-2000 Showcase of Homes to golf tournaments, auctions, and award ceremonies, the NSHBA provides its members with ample opportunity to network with fellow members and take part in the association's many special events.
